Carroll Butts Park Master Plan

Carroll Butts Park is one of the largest in the District and is co-owned with the City of Westminster.  In addition to being the home of the Hyland Hills Sports Center and the Carroll Butts Aquatic Center, this park features ample parking, 4 ball fields, football/soccer fields, concessions, restrooms, shelters, playgrounds, trails, a pond, basketball courts, tennis courts, fishing, barbeques and picnic tables.

Master Plan Improvements: Hyland Hills is partnering with the City of Westminster to plan and design improvements to update Carroll Butts Park. This park is very popular with local residents who recreate on the tennis court, playground, sports fields, and walking paths throughout the park. The park is due for an update as many amenities are beyond their typical lifespan. After collecting feedback from the community, Hyland Hills and the City of Westminster created a Master Plan in October 2023. The Plan will be executed in several stages. Estimated Completion Date: Phase I – July 2025 (Parking Lot Expansion, Outdoor Pickleball Court Construction, Drainage Improvements)

Phase I Construction Updates:

• Mid-February: Construction will begin on the Central Parking Lot (south of the ballfields). The parking lot, as well as the adjacent East-West sidewalk and the North-South sidewalk to the west of the parking lot, will be closed during this time. Pedestrian traffic will be directed to the sidewalk adjacent to the west side of Perry St. There will be continued impacts to this area through July.
